Sue Regis, owner of Regis Glass Art, has a passion for glass. Sue was introduced to the world of glass while taking a jewelry class at Joliet Junior College in 1996 and has been training herself ever since. Sue has dabbled in many different glass formats: soft glass, borosilicate glass, fusing and slumping, stained glass, mixed media and has worked in the hot shop. While working at uninspiring jobs, glass remained just a hobby; Sue always aspired to have a career in glass. Tired of living other people's dreams, Sue opened her own business in June 2005 and is pursuing glass full-time and living her own dream.
"I try to focus my work on clean lines, lots and lots of color, pictures that go on forever, and three-dimensional work. My inspiration comes from a variety of things. Music plays a big role, although there are times I enjoy silence when I work. My mood has a big impact on my work. Each and every piece comes from the emotion I felt at the time. I tend not to look at other artists' work because I like to think that each of my pieces comes from inside me. I would not be able to do what I do without the support of my family and friends, especially my nephew Johnathan and my niece Lily, who inspire me every day. A special thank you to Maureen Ranta, a recent addition to the Regis Glass Art team, for her support, feedback, suggestions, and sales expertise. Thank you"
